GFCI Outlet Installation
GFCI Outlet & AFCI Installation in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton and the Greater Lehigh Valley Area
A home’s electrical system is prone to wear and tear. Regular testing and evaluation of receptacles, switches, and breakers can prevent dangerous situations down the road. There are two electrical upgrades that should be installed to protect your home: ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) and arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCIs).

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI)
GFCI outlets are recommended for:
- Outside plugs
- Bathroom plugs
- Plugs on your kitchen countertop
- Plugs for your pool pumps & jacuzzi

Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters (AFCI)
Arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCIs) protect a home against electrical fires. ACFIs protect against fire-causing arcing much like GFCI’s protect against stray current. When an arc is detected, power to the circuit is interrupted. Arcing can be caused by any number of factors, including damaged or worn wires, incorrect wiring, and loose or wet connections.
AFCI’s are not an outlet, but rather a physical break that is housed in the electrical panel box. AFCI’s provide great fire protection to homes with older wiring.

Dedicated Circuits
There are some appliances that require a lot of power to operate. Some examples are washers, dryers, HVAC Systems, Stoves/Ovens, microwaves, Swimming Pools and more. Therefore, it is necessary to have circuits that are dedicated to these devices to minimize any overload to your electrical system.
GB Electric can install dedicated circuits for any appliance inside or outside your home. Give us a call today for a free consultation
