GFCI Outlet Installation

GFCI Outlet & AFCI Installation in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton and the Greater Lehigh Valley Area

A home’s electrical system is prone to wear and tear. Regular testing and evaluation of receptacles, switches, and breakers can prevent dangerous situations down the road.  There are two electrical upgrades that should be installed to protect your home: ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) and arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCIs).

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI)

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCI) help protect against electric shock, especially when moisture is expected. These devices detect variances in the electrical current and interrupt power if anything goes wrong with it – preventing someone from getting zapped by an accident!

GFCI outlets are a great way to ensure your home’s safety. These electrical boxes can protect you from fires caused by short circuits, and they come with lifetime warranties!

GFCI outlets are recommended for:

  • Outside plugs
  • Bathroom plugs
  • Plugs on your kitchen countertop
  • Plugs for your pool pumps & jacuzzi

Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters (AFCI)

Arc fault circuit interrupters (AFCIs) protect a home against electrical fires. ACFIs protect against fire-causing arcing much like GFCI’s protect against stray current. When an arc is detected, power to the circuit is interrupted. Arcing can be caused by any number of factors, including damaged or worn wires, incorrect wiring, and loose or wet connections.

AFCI’s are not an outlet, but rather a physical break that is housed in the electrical panel box.  AFCI’s provide great fire protection to homes with older wiring.
