Northampton County PA was formed in 1752 and is one of 2 counties in the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton Metropolitan Area that make up the Lehigh Valley. Northampton County is a fantastic place to live…rich with great schools, employment opportunities, culture and nature.  It has a rich history dating back to the 1600’s when William Penn received his famous land grant from King Charles II. During the American Revolution, Bethlehem housed two Continental Army hospitals. General Lafayette recuperated here from wounds received during the famous Battle of Brandywine at Brandywine Creek. Lafayette College in Easton bears his name.  The town square of the city of Easton was one of 3 locations where the Declaration of Independence was read to the colonies in 1776. As the area grew and became more populated, the discovery of Anthracite coal in PA helped transform Northampton County into one of the larger industrial centers of the US and helped create the giant Bethlehem Steel Company. Northampton County is also home to other notable businesses including Martin Guitar, Binney & Smith, Victaulic, Inc. and Just Born (mmm…Peeps!). The cities of Bethlehem and Easton are home to some of the finest colleges and universities in the country including Lehigh University, Lafayette College, Moravian University and Northampton Community College.
